Hey all wanted to share yesterday's tournament on Falls Lake. I found a magical bank line not too far from launch in a cove that produced 13+ fish for me to secure a 2nd place finish.
NC got hit with a cold front late Thursday into Friday with rain lingering mid Saturday into tournament, full moon, winds in the 8-9 with 15-20mph gust. Water temp 63 (was 68 on Tuesday)
In my area for practice I found a finesse shakey head bite dirt shallow , and spinner bait bite mid depth ~9ft. With the cold front I adjusted everything I found atleast 3 ft from where I practiced. I noticed fish I saw deep on my sonar tuesday in main channel where not there not even bait on side scan so I made a detour to check the nearest pocket. 1st and 3rd cast I caught some bass so I decided to slowly and methodically throw that shakey head, each cast not overlapping the last cast's line. Once I did one pass I go back up the bank with a wacky rig and cleaned up any areas I felt I missed on the initial pass. I found many buck males and some 12-15.75 inch buck males 1 ready to spawn female 18 incher and an active spawning bass couldn't tell if male or female but had roughed up bloody tail.
Hope this helps anyone fishing a cold front tourny. Surprising enough up the lake at holly point campground area the angler who won had a very similar occurrence where he had all his winning fish on one bank in one cove that he combed through all morning.
