This has come up quite a bit. I’m thinking on how to talk about this. It’s all about context. I always mention it when explaining how to fis certan baits and techniques. It’s all relative to what you’re doing so boat position is specific to every single lure and every single technique

Great topic as well. I’ve ever sharpened a hook in my life. Today’s hooks are chemically sharpened not honed so you actually dull a hook with traditional stones. If your hooks are dull get new hooks.

That’s a great mindset shift! Wait until you realize there’s no such thing as talent! Then your belief system strengthens even more.

Do you ever go to Burton or chatugue?

Absolutely. This is a great conversation to have. Most moving baits don’t require much input from the angler. Simple smooth reel is good enough. Drag baits like Texas rigs shakey head jigs need a bit more pop but not too much. Your hookset also depends on what the fish is doing. This is why I encourage fishing for other species. You probably won’t get enough reps fishing for bass to learn how to set the hook properly

I can’t wait to hear this conversation.

Chatterbaits through grass almost always works! What color did you use?

Have you not been using our lake breakdown process?
