Let's be honest..... we all like the catching part! it certainly gets boring sometimes. Plan short trips. I usually go in the evening for that very reason. When it's dark we go home. Ned, floating worm, wacky, small swimbaits are all good lures that you really can't mess up. I have a 5'6" I started my son off with but if she's 8 I wouldn't buy anything that you don't already use. 6'6" spinning rod should be perfect.Ā

Here’s the bait I used today. Today we caught maybe 10-12 or so all in 30-40ft. Next week I’m going to try the middle range 6-12ft and catch some fish on reaction baits.
