you're right! it takes so much energy to get back in the boat. You're fortunate it wasn't cold water. It paralyzes you so much. I'm glad this turned out to be a wake up call and not a tragic accident. This is also a great example of why it's important to always fish with a partner if you can. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

I haven’t had that issue but I can tell you this. There’s really only 2 fishing reel companies that you can truly expect a long time of use out of. SHIMANO AND DIAWA. I’ve used 13. They’re good reels. It’s just not a shimano. I use them now and lews as well. Pretty good reels but just don’t have the technology that shimano and daiwa have.

also I realize July 15th isn't a Sunday. I just didn't want to make a new graphic.

Next week I have another live class. I'll have a more formal invite via email going out in the future. Let me know who wants to be on the live class to do a "hot seat". Let me know in the comments section here.

They don't all go deep in the summer. In every fishery there's a group that stays shallow all year long. This is the best time of year to fish for that group right now. You can use a square crankbait to catch them.

Ken was this on the river you mentioned you'd be going to fish this week? We'll have to get you on a hot seat to talk about your experience on the next live class.
