Sweet.. Your Kay.Fishing on Instagram right.. I have followed you for a while. Enjoy what you do! Keep it up.

Just a tip that was shown to me when I first started.. So why not share the knowledge!

Brian Barde depending on how many way points you have, it can cause your unit to slow down much like an old computer. This is why I try to keep it cleaned up as I can.

Tim Dodson asked about marking waypoints so this is one of the tricks I use when I see stuff like road beds, rock plies, old ramp or foundations. If you notice in the picture I just did a quick drawing of this area because I know there is an old boat ramp right next to this ramp. The red lines show were the ramp is. When I mark it, I will place dots or marks along the edge of it and the end of it to "draw" an outline. Then I will place one in the center with a title of what it is. Plus it helps with size reference. So if I find rock pile, I do the same thing. Outline with marks then one in the center. Now, you can easily see it on your map and know how to position your boat without having to scan it. Hope that helps explain it.

Brian Barde and Tim Dodson both asked tonight about way point management. I actually keep SD cards for different lakes with all my waypoints. I run Lowrance on the console and they have the ability to to export waypoints by region. So short answer is the prep work is creating a card for each lake. Once I have done that, then I purge the unit of all waypoints. When I go to a lake I input the lake card I have... Download waypoints.. Fish, create new waypoints, end the day, export to card then purge unit. Seems like alot fo steps but it is actually quick. Longest part is creating the cards for each lake. The picture is of the cards I have in a holder plus other cards for running lanes and other stuff.

I agree as well with the split ring.. Good for prototype application but I see to many cons with it

What ever you do, I would suggest doing 3 x 12v and not doing 1 x 36v. As far as brand, that really depend ls on what your looking for and your pocket book.
