Got out this weekend to try to hone in on the deep water catch. Chose a lake that has a very concentrated 'deep' area to make it easier to find them, which I did. But again, threw everything I could at them with no luck. So I pulled chalks and went to my usual lake. The water has warmed up to ~57 degrees now and I started seeing them shallow. I got a hit on a lipless by a SM but didn't hook him. Then I hooked a LM on a swim jig in about 12-15 ft of water and brought him all the way to the boat. Bad finishing technique and he jumped off. I can deal with that and I can get better at that technique. But where I really struggled was in recreating the success. I just finished B-Lat's Build the Bridge Confidence video and I completely get the message about following the pattern. If I had already gotten a couple of hits in one spot, I didn't need to stay there indefinitely. I should have made a mental note of the pattern and gone in search of the next area that matched that pattern. I can't wait to go back out and try it again. Heck, they might even be spawning next time!

Happy Easter, everyone! Got out yesterday and I have to say it was a great live scope day. Super clear picture despite high winds. I had great success locating fish, even targeting them and getting them to chase my bait. But couldn't get them to bite, mostly. It's been warming up here in MI but the water temp was still below 50. This smallie was in ~10-15 feet of water. Caught it on a lipless. 3lb 17in. Then I parked in that spot (see live scope) and threw everything in my boat at them. They would chase, but not take. Not sure if those are bass and I just couldn't crack the code, or if those were smaller bait fish and I just got lucky that there was a smallie hanging around. I need a lot more practice to ID bass on the scope. Hope you all have great outings this weekend!

Hi fam, need some help please. New to live scope this year and I've had some luck so far but struggling to ID the fish that I want to target. I keep finding these massive bait balls but not the predators. I'm in Michigan and the fish are still behaving like it's winter. Water reached 45 degrees today for the first time this year. Any tips?
