This is for my kayak fishers. What are some cautions or dangers that you would warn new kayakers about? You guys are out there all the time and would be great sources of information for those who want to get into kayak fishing. Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Brand new gear! Let’s go!

Thanks BLat! I appreciate you sharing that. We can all appreciate your professional perspective. It really helps to know that I can get a really great performing baitcaster and not have to buy the most expensive one that exists.

I have enjoyed the Lews that I purchased so far.

I have heard great things about Shimano and Daiwa!

This is the most expensive baitcaster that I have ever purchased. I got it a couple of weeks ago. It was $139.00 at Academy. I know that there are a lot more expensive reels but I want to step my way up so I can personally know the difference with different reels. I can tell a difference between this one and some of the others that I use. My next purchase will be a mid grade Daiwa spinning and baitcaster. The cost of those are around $300.00 each. I want to choose my reels based on what works for me rather than what is popular. What are some of you guys most favorite goto spinning and baitcaster reels?

For those of you who have BLats signature rods, what reels do you have paired with them?
