Many of you mentioned you struggled fishing offshore in the fall. We've done quit a few workshops here in the app about fall fishing offshore. Check the comments section below for some of the most popular videos about offshore videos among subs.
Tournment recap Lake Kegonsa. Fished the last tournament of the year this weekend. Sad that it’s already over. It was a challenge given this lake had a bad case of the algae blooms. On Thursday evening when I practiced after work, I had 5-6 good bites on a frog right on top of the algae blooms near docks and where the river met the lake. So you had clean oxygenated water going into the lake and like a “mud line” where it met the lake. There was so much bait there dancing on the surface it looked like rain drops hitting the water. So tournment day I went to that area. From 7am-11, not a single bite. I fished all the weeds that were still green on that lake. At 11 I decided to go to the opposite. Went to the other end of the lake where there was no weeds, shallow sandy bottom, and docks. Water visibility was still 1-2 inches and neon green, just didn’t have the big algae blooms. Apparently that’s where all the bass were hiding. Finished with 4 LM Bass 9.62lbs. All in all I learned a lot from this tournament and practice and what I need to do next year. Fall fishing use to be my most dreaded time of year to fish, but I’ve built a real confidence for it now. Thank you SUF for the lessons and teachings!
Can you believe it?! We are just 11 days and a wake up until our mini community retreat at Guntersville, AL! We still have two bed slots available for $125 for the entire time of the retreat. Please message me directly if you'd like to reserve a bunk or comment below.
Day 1 Thursday: we will be picking a ramp to meet up to fish together. Ray Brunetti had a great idea on fishing together or in the same vicinity so we can learn from each other in person.
Afterwards, We will be meeting at Waterfront Tackle shop after to check out some new baits and have an in person roundtable. We'll be streaming this for those who can't make it. Dinner we will be ordering something together and hang by a nice camp fire.
Day 2 Friday: Fish all day and cookout for dinner. This is also day one for our 'catch to cook' competition.
Day 3 Saturday: Fish all day, catch and cook continued and fish fry for dinner. This is also day one for the SUF 'the last dance' online tournament!
Day 4 Sunday: SUFam breakfast before departing.
Cannot wait to see all who will be there!
Been frustrated lately with my seeking out our LM friends... people are going to town on the pan fish though. Its been a good month that them big bass seemed to just up and disappeared, a few little ones once in a while, I haven't been out much either.. Life ya know... Finally got into acouple decent ones. Was just about ready to put the gear away and start rounding up the ice fishing stuff for the coming winter season.
Got a question for my northern anglers
When would be a great time to start online CPR for the north anglers.
I need some help with months
Thank you
A few on top water today in the wind on points. This one on a drop shot off a rocky point
Today, I didn’t perform as well as I had hoped, but I did give a shoutout to our Straight Up Fishing school and Brian Latimer as I walked across the stage with my little bass. Overall, it was an incredible year of learning. I managed to catch at least one or more fish in every tournament. Although I had hoped for a better year, in retrospect, it was truly amazing to fish in all these new bodies of water, facing off against 80 to 120 other anglers and ended up in 18th Place in points for the northeast division. Thank you all for supporting Ken and I. I appreciate Brian Latimer and this community.
Seth Yates wishing you luck! I can’t wait to get out there for the state tournament in a couple of weeks.
