Got to sneak out for a few hours this morning and took the kid that wants me to captain for him next season for Osceola Anglers HS fishing club. Had a good day, landed 6 dinks, big girls were hiding, but today was a teaching day for me trying to show him tactics beyond basics to prepare him to be competitive next season. Blew his mind that they were blowing up on my old school Johnson Spoon with a yellow skirt. I may have to do a video on it so all can understand how to fish it for bass, and why it works. My day was made when on the drive home Brayden told me he caught more fish today than he did in 4 tournaments combined this past season.

Lot of activity here in the community this past week with the tournament! Love to see yall actually fishing and not just CONSUMING content about fishing. I intentionally have dialed back so many workshops because I know you actually FISHING would serve you better than continuously staying in the app or YouTube just consuming videos. GO FISHING TOO! Try things. Y’all are clearly focusing on improvement. I love to see this!

Hey Tyson Balaam, we were taking about Jerkbaits during the round table a couple nights ago. Some inspiration for you.

Jerkbait myths busted. This time on Lake Toho.

“Don’t believe the hype” -Public Enemy

1. Jerkbait is only for cold weather.

2. Must have cloudy weather.

3. Only good on points.

4. Vision 110 or nothing else.

5. Must have a specific cadence prioritizing pauses.

6. Must use a bait caster with light fluorocarbon.

1.a Water temp was 88 degrees

2.a Mostly sunny with bright blue skies

3.a Sitting in a flat in 9 feet of water with scattered hydrilla patches.

4.a Strike King KVD deep diver running at 6 foot. active target verified.

5.a Whap whap whap whap all the way back to the boat.

6.a Shimano Poison Adrena 6’10” spinning rod with Stradic 3000. 15lb braid to 20lb flouro leader.

Results: 1x6lb, 1x3lb, 5x2lb = 15 pound bag in a couple hours with plenty of room to cull.

Good day on the water even with only 1 fish, Blue Cypress is a beautiful lake, The Gators were thick and active today, at one point I had 7 all over 8 ft within casting distance, May explain the lack of fish. Alex Sterling would have had a time for sure. Play a little I spy
