Finished the road trip at Alum Creek today. Did a lot of idling and scanning. Caught a couple nice ones. Learned some about the lake. There is A LOT of boat traffic. Can't wait to do it again over the the 4th.
On a point in the weeds. This guy missed it 3 times before just hammering the frog. (Insert Bobby Berrick sounds effects here).
Can we talk about how real post tournament hangover is? I’m beat!
Correct if I’m wrong, but to my understanding the only you can be allowed into ICAST is if you invite by a company. Is this correct?
Didn’t have the best day on Russell yesterday. They pumped water up to Hartwell so all my bank grass was pretty dry. I looked for my fish but just couldn’t put it together. Dropshot and swing jig on rock and marker poles. Caught a multitude of 8”-11” spots, lost two that would have helped and ended up with a bag of four. I spent to much time looking for wet bank grass, should have abandoned that sooner. Middle of the pack finish. PS it was bright sunny and hot AF. I struggled, I finished, I survived chalk it all up to the memory banks and learn from it. One good anchor fish on dropshot in 20’ on marker pole.
This was a rewarding experience. Reelfoot lake is one of the most beautiful fisheries, but it can be so difficult to bass fish. I fished for 10 hours yesterday and only got one bite. I used that bite to target “something different” and it paid off this morning.
Well I got out today. The bite was slow but I was able to catch a few on a jig. My first time throwing it . Started off a little slow but that’s how I roll. 😁😁😁😁.
I have to say you’ll might be hard to catch but it not over yet.
Day 2 at Indian went well launched this morning with a tournament. Weigh in was at 230 I got off the water at 3. Took 13.8 and 13.4 to get in the money. I had 11.4. A nice respectable bag. It's back to Alum Creek for tomorrow before heading home
