Tried a new technique today with the Damiki Vault blade bait in 20 feet of water. Caught one but I think I learned something. Looking forward to trying it again.

Happy Thanksgiving SUF Family!

Had about 45 minutes to fish under a spillway in Okc on the Oklahoma river. Rigged up a Keithtech 3inch minnow on a Ned rig. I pinched off the first two inches of the minnow and caught my first river bass. Straight retrieve. It was on the ultralight rod 4lb test super fun fight.

Don't sleep on those shallow weeds (especially the water willow) this time of year. I figured out if they weren't out chasing they were holed up somewhere. I started flipping and punching the weeds and was able to make a come back in the tournament from the bank. BLat said they would be in the thickest or the thinnest part of the weeds and he nailed it. Here's a 7lb 5oz from yesterday that I wish I had caught a week earlier. Thank God she was in the thickest of the thinnest weeds.

Just finished watching/listening to coaching call-Brush piles. My season is over and the boat has been put away and I'm trying to decide what to do for next season. towards the end of this session a lot of time is spent talking about "we learn from each other" and how we "stop learning" when we stop sharing information. I have had this idea for a little while bouncing around in my head and  would like to know who is interested in fishing with me next year? I want to fish new waters and what better way to do that, than coming to your lake and fishing with you for the weekend or a day. Have a team "open" tournament on your favorite lake, I'm game. We can fish out of your boat or mine.  i would like to make 1 trip a month starting in late Jan. early Feb. Anyone interested get in touch and lets go rip some lips together.

Lake Arbuckle Tournament Prep: Need Help Breaking the Code!

Hello everyone,

I've put in two full 10-hour practice days on Lake Arbuckle ahead of the December 21st tournament, with a few more practice sessions scheduled.

Conditions: Both days have been tough: bluebird skies, minimal wind, and water temperatures in the mid-70s.

Lake Breakdown: This is a classic, extremely shallow, natural Florida lake. Key features include two main creek inflows, vast areas of lily pads and cattails, but no brush, no significant contours, and only a few main points.

The Problem: My two days yielded only three fish totaling under 6 pounds, all caught late on the second day using a buzz toad. I cycled through all the classics (Senkos, Chatterbaits, Wacky rigs, Ned rigs) without success. These fish seem highly pressured or extremely wary. I had a similar, frustrating tournament here last year.

I'm hitting a wall and have seemingly tried everything. Does anyone have videos, references, or general advice for tackling extremely tough/high-pressured lakes when your standard approaches fail?

All feedback is appreciated!
