Good morning. Currently considering setting up my little girl, she’s 8, and to be my co-angler for local tournaments. She’s great at fishing the wacky, has her count down and twitch to be dangerous. My dilemma is she loves to catch, but the fishing part gets boring. My questions for children are:

1\\. At what age do you recommend or start?
2\\. What are great confidence baits?
3\\. Do you have a rod reel combo preference?

Thank you all and have a blessed day.

My situation bank fishing today. The SUF professor and team allowed me to make quick changes as it’s Nov in central Texas and the water temp was 82. Fish were literally in the dirt on the bank 😂. Got out the of the Kayak. Came home to neighborhood pond and caught a few. The one shown on freeloader but most of the catch came on that ole mood ring!!

It's much colder today! One of the best parts of Fall fishing is the empty boat ramps. The bad part is they start lower lakes to the point that getting a boat into those ramps starts getting tricky. I managed to get out there for a couple of hours. Jigs still work in the later Fall.

Would y’all find value in a workshop on “what things look like on sonar”?

Here’s the bait I used today. Today we caught maybe 10-12 or so all in 30-40ft. Next week I’m going to try the middle range 6-12ft and catch some fish on reaction baits.

30-40ft is the sweet spot for me right now.

What's up SUF fam. I recently went fishing with my Omnia app. I don't have any electronics so it shows me water depth and underwater contour changes. I had to break out my " Knockoff Nalgene bottle tote'n wanna be environmental science major days" to remember how to read the contours.
So, I thought not everyone may understand what they are looking at. On the 3D image pics you can mentally flip the image and imagine it as a hole or valley or you can imagine it covered in water as a cliff or mound all depending on the depth number listed on the contour line... The main thing to remember is... The closer the lines the steeper the slope like a ledge and the further the lines the more gentle the slope. Hope these help...
