I think my wife may have stumbled on to the most torturous experience she could possibly expose me to. I am right now driving to go spend the day with the Inlaw extended family at a lake house on Lake Gaston and no fishing poles no fishing boat no fishing allowed. I may need therapy after this.

Ricky, I would love to go fishing with you when you’re down this way unfortunately this time of the year is a little tough. My wife and I are heading to Florida the day after Christmas to go see two of our children and an extended family. We will not be backuntil January 5 if you’re still in town by that time we can definitely get together and get on the water, but you don’t need to bring any poles. I have more than enough fish and tackle for the two of us.

I'm going to take a page out of BLat's playbook and answer your question with a question or 2.  What type of jig fishing are we talking about?  Flipping into heavy cover?  Maybe swimming a jig down a the edge of some grass?  Are you fishing an area/lake where there is a lot of fishing pressure?

If you are flipping blow downs or heavy vegetation, I would think straight braid, in fact I might even go straight braid anyway.  The one exception I might make would be if there is a lot of fishing pressure and your just not getting bites.  I'd more likely switch bait in that scenario, tbh.

I would like to be consider for a boater sponsorship to represent SUF angler development program for 2025 BFL season.

Why I should be selected? Compared to the other angler in SUF that is a tough question to answer. I can assure you I am a giver to my core. Possibly that trait along side my inability to quit or give up might be my character traits, best aligned with what SUF represents.  I'm not suggesting I'm better than anyone here, only what I know to be true about myself.

This is by far the hardest thing about aspiring to be a professional angler.  I suck at talking about myself.

Good luck to everyone!
