Whoops! Bound to happen eventually.
Yep... Omnia app. Definitely worth it. Wife may be pissed when the fee comes out... But now I know how deep the water is when I have to have to hide from her. Haha.
I got out with my buddy’s small boat and went way up river to the shallows in my local reservoir. Water clarity was less than a foot but caught fish in 3-4 feet. Started with the spinnerbait and caught 1. Running the spinnerbaits threw dying grass, rock and wood laydowns but no further bites. Had a thought to throw the jerkbait around rocks and immediately change to it. Caught two good ones. Had a weightless fluke tied on but wasn’t feeling it until the sun warmed up. Then hung the fluke around some laydowns and caught two more.
Smiled when my buddy caught the biggest of the day on a spinnerbait.
Fall fishing has not been on fire but when I get a bite they have been good ones. No dinks!
Caught a couple 2.5lbs and my first striped all on chartreuse hybrid Hunter
Well SUF fam, I can finally quote our great professor Phd. Brian Latimer ... "Thems like the ones I catch !!!".... Small shad like soft plastics did the trick for me on Saturday!!! I was able to get out to a lake the day before it shuts down for public fishing. It's only my third time fishing the lake. Caught this 20.5 in/ 3.5 lb Spot .... from the deep side of the boat. I don't know the exact depth since I don't use electronics...
Caught him on a 3\16 oz Texas Eye jig head (love those jig heads) with a 4" Pearl Blue Glimmer Diesel Minnow. Definitely a one of a kind fish had a lot of character and scars. The lip was actually partially pulled off... #olsnatchandgrab #javorslucaslake #fromthedeepsideoftheboat
Best kept secret in the military. Of course we fish on Army ships around the world. Here’s a sample from 1999 off of Cozumel Mexico on the USAV 2034 Perryville. Go Army!
Did you pay attention to the live last night?
First person to answer all 3 correctly wins my pond fising chatterbait kit today.
Trying to get ready for a tournament on lay lake. Need to get some confidence with the baits i have to use mainly a texas rig, drop shot guy looking to throw an Alabma rig any tips? Oh I have to use there baits so all my favorites have to stay home.
I went out today to work on locating where the bass were in the water column off rocky points; in clear water without electronics. I learned so much by basic process of ellination starting out using the 3xd to 5 xd and ultimately settling in with the 6xd crawfish color. I found that the fish were right in the light penetration zone where they were most active. I was throwing a 7-6” cranking rod; I’ll often use a 7-4” also both pair with a 6:3:1 reel with 12 lb. Seagaur fluorocarbon line. Although I did catch a few small ones as I was working my way down the water column it was 100% obvious once reaching the light penetration zone as it related to the quality and quantity of fish I was catching vs the 2 shallower zones the 3 & 5xd baits would yield. In this optimum zone the fish were mostly 2-3lbs with an 4 lber here and there. It took me about an 1-1/2 to work through this process of working myself into the optimum zone that were always looking for during pre-practice and honestly practicing during the tournaments. I also found that using the square bill right along the transition from clear to stained water on into mostly stained water was also a good bite. I wasn’t really keeping up with weight ti truly know the best five weight but I’d say 13-14lbs., I did catch a 4-13lb kicker though. This was the first time I took this approach to breaking down a body of water but feom the results I’ll sure go about it this way more. This was most helpful for me so I hope it may help some other fellow SUF team members
