I have some less than ideal news. Last week I came down with what I thought was just a “bug”. I pushed through and fished my tournament but it got worse everyday. Turns out I either had the flu or maybe even Covid! 🥹 I went in to urgent care this morning. That ended in had x-rays and an antibiotic 5 hours later. I never filmed anything last week. I just didn’t have any energy. In some weird way I’m glad to know I actually was sick because it felt like I was “un-motivated” which is something I’ve never really experienced. I should be solid in a few days of rest. We have a live school this Wednesday. I think I’ll be good by then but I’ll probably still be coughing quite a bit. I want to have a few of you on the live. Anyone want to come on? Let me know.
Slowing down my presentation with a creature bait. Tossed next to wood or rock was productive for me to day. Added to my SUF tournament.
Ended the SUF Spring Classic tournament last month with a new small mouth PB with a 19.75" When I tell ya, that tournament made me work 😮💨
working a spillway today caught 2 largemouth on strike king chartriusse and black back 1.5 crankbait silent. They wouldn't touch the ones with the rattle. water clarity is about 2 feet. Water wasn't to fast so what do i use that will be better for the fast water about 4 feet deep. there is hybrids and largemouth in there just struggling to get bites. rocky bottom.
What a weekend made top 10 in the derby and moved in to the top 20 of the SUF online tournament!
Caught 30 bass this week on the Neko rig. All on the BLat sick stick. Floating trick worm, bama bug.
Great weekend to be at the north woods cabin for some fishing, eating, and drinking.
Today was tough fishing up here in the NE. The water temperature is trending down. Fish are pre-spawn, some spawn, and they seem to be scattered. After 4 hours of trying different baits and techniques, I did manage to get a pattern going. It was a slow jig bite on vertical structure with some weed cover close. BTW, the Straight Up Fishing TV Sweatshirt is thick, soft and warm.
Good Luck today Brian Latimer at the MLF on Lake Eufaula https://majorleaguefishing.com/events/2024-05-10-lake-eufaula/
