Next week I’m taking a couple days off to hit some spawning lakes. Then Lake Michigan for the Coho Salmon run.

Brian Latimer they are still pre spawn. Where we caught fish quick was in a small stained water pocket like the picture attached. The other two similar pockets were gin clear and didn’t hold fish. We tried to fish more in the stained pocket but faster boats beat us there. We tried to find more protected pockets in bays to find fish. Only saw fish in one gin clear pocket. 2-3lbers and 1 small guy just roaming by docks. Couldn’t get them to bite and threw the kitchen sink at them. Had the sonor off and minimal use of the trolling motor to try and deminish our presence. We covered a ton of water and couldn’t find anymore fish. Then started dragging a Carolina rig around on flat points 5-10ft of water but no luck.

Brian Latimer once you get one you won’t regret it

Does anyone have a furry friend that loves fishing too?

I’d be down to lead it, but I can’t do Wedneadays. Our Wednesday night bass tournaments have started.

Well Jeff and I first tournament didn’t go as well, but an opportunity for a learning experience. We only ended up with one 1.36lb LM, which we caught in the first 10minutes of the morning. For sure in the early pre spawn stages and couldn’t repeat the bite. A lot of other anglers struggled as well, several zeros, except 3-4 who caught them well 14-17lb bags. Long story short, something to learn from and looking forward to breaking this down.

Giving this more thought, I need to be better at problem solving while on the water

For me it’s mental preparation and making the time to better prepare for tournaments.
