We got bonus time today!
Sometimes it is worth getting on the water even if it is only for 1.5 hours...
Went out last Sat at Silverwood Lake- SoCal on my float tube. Hell of a work out! Skunked. I had a power set up (30lb braid to 15lb fluro with a chatterbait tied on)and finesse set up (10lb braid 10lb fluro leader with wacky rig). I was throwing both around lay downs you see here. Water was warm at 75 degrees. Oh lots of eurasian watermilfoil and some algae . Maybe I should have gone deeper and slower? Still fun being back on the water!
Caught my personal best largemouth this morning on black and blue chatterbait. It was under a lone dock for a long way and the dock was surrounded by pads and grass. 6lb 2oz.
1st day of the fall fishing workshop is today! Science of the strike is sharing details on how to use scent to catch more bass. See you tonight at 6pm.
Drove a few hours looking for smallmouth at a NYC reservoir (that is not in NYC). I ended up with 3 caught on a ned rig, a shaky head and my first catch on a drop shot. Almost had a 4th when my weight got snagged and then had a bite. Unfortunately I couldn’t set the hook.
Still cranking on the St Lawrence. 4 pounds and 9 ounce smallie. 😀
Ended up 46th out of 92 for my first BFL. Very happy with my outcome. Sad to see the co angler go. Hopefully a suitable replacement will be found.
School starts tomorrow!!!! What if we did a few bonus lessons in the morning or around noon? Yay or nay?
