I did a little cull work today. Took some 1pounders from an over populated pond for a family fish fry. I really enjoy this scenario it gives me the opportunity to work on different techniques and see how fish respond.
I fished a two day two lake team tournament, one lake each day. Each team or individual was allowed 5 bass each day. We did not place and we got lunker for the first day. Look at those mega bags brought to the scale each day!!!!!!
Did some map research and found some rocky bluffs in 20+ feet of stained water. Didn’t let the light rain and 20 mph winds keep me away. Threw a shad colored rock crawler along the rocky bluff 10-12 feet deep in 71 degree water. Rewarded with a 4 pounder and two 3 pounders in less than 3 hours of fishing. Make it simple just listen to B.Lat!!
Finally got me one from the bank. Still out here so I’ll reply with more details
Brian’s advice, Fishing with intention: on my last day of vacation today , I set out to catch an offshore bass. Drove boat around till I found shad and bass on the side imaging. Since I don’t have forwarded facing sonar…I positioned the boat upwind of the fish…and drifted through while jigging a 3.5in xzone swammer. Success! I caught offshore bass for the first time at Tims Ford. Thanks for the encouragement!
Wife and I caught a few before having supper at the farm!
This past week was awesome chatting with all of you on the coaching calls. Many of you had tournaments this weekend and some had homework to research. I’d love to see what you guys results were and what you learned. I’ll set up a new round of coaching calls this month so you can be in a coaching group. It’s awesome to hear how all of you are thinking about fishing!
Crankbait with active target through baitballs in 15 foot of water is a blast! No giants but 7 in the boat in 45 minutes kept me giggling. Was a great time while water testing after changing fluids to prep for my month long tour.
