So water temperature behavior/activity is actually very miscommunicated. Bass aren’t necessarily feeling and interpreting the weather the exact way we do. In fact, bass can actually be more active in more areas of the lake during colder water periods. Mainly it’s about oxygen levels in the water. There’s really no “magic” water temperature I’ve found. ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL. I’ll explain this in a video later because there’s so many moving parts. I always think in terms of water temp movement. Is it warming, stable or cooling. That’s all. Even during the spawn you’ll see claims that bass spawn at “65-68”. That’s not the full truth. It’s a great guide. However if the water temperature stabilizes and the day length is correct (month) bass will spawn . It can 55 degrees. Sooooooo in short no they NEVER stop feeding because of water temperature. There’s always a way. ALWAYS. Our methods adjust. Where we look my change but there’s always bass biting even when there’s ice or when there’s 100 degree water ( like South Carolina) the show keeps going on

New York is literally my favorite state to fish in

Everyone starts out small. We all start out local. What do you perceive a disadvantage to be? What is something that anyone is successful at quickly? How exactly would you define expertise? Let get clear on what that is first.

That’s a huge one for Logan. It has a lot of fish but not many big ones.

The flint is a special place! I fish it at least once a year as well. I’d go as far as to say it’s one of the most special rivers in the country

It’s really hard as I started fishing national tournaments to do this. I have to get really creative now. That’s why I fish for other species. It introduces me to other people and different ways of thinking. The biggest grab is learning a new way to look at things. I have a few friends that I can compare findings with. You’d be surprised how little most competitors actually fish. Competition is mostly mental so I’ve found the most value in other sports. Helping my son with motocross has been a eye opener as well. There’s resources and value literally all around us and what I’ve found is it’s often found in a non fishing environment.

Hey will! You may be one of the only college guys here. I’m excited to have you here man. How has your season been so far. Tell me where you go next! When you have a tournament be sure to reach out so we can talk about it. If I’ve been there I’d be happy to share what I’ve experienced about the lake

So I hated the idea of it until I realized what it’s all about. To be honest it doesn’t really make any practical sense from a competitive standpoint. It’s a commodity type deal. It’s supposed to be fun. It’s for people tha live on lakes that suck and have small fish but looking for a way to enjoy those lakes in a new way. The best analogy i can think of is those 3 wheel Can Am deal tha people drive around. It’s really unnecessary but it’s fun for someone to drive around and let the wind blow through their hair in the summer for 45 mins or so. That’s BFS. It’s not necessary but it’s fun and different.
