Longer pauses with the soft jerkbait and not nearly as violent as well. I would use quick little pops for the soft plastic jerkbait. The hard bait requires more violent action

That’s a great question! I would do it from the side! I even stand up at times unless it’s rough water out. The side option would work the best!

With the water temps in the 40s and 50s I’m thinking not that much should change. The biggest thing I’ve messed up on in past tournaments was making sure to fish the “ditch” side of pockets when the water cools. Anywhere it’s a little deeper is usually a better place to fish. That can be 1ft or 10ft just depending on the type of fishery. I bet the fish bite reaction baits better too. Jerkbait, lipless I’d have something on I could use effectively in the wind. I’m gonna be dealing with the same thing this weekend. The only issue is I DONT KNOW THE WATER THAT WELL!!! I still would do what you’ve been doing until the data points you in a different direction.

This week I’m fishing Kentucky lake for my next tournament! I have an off day in thursday. I’ll make sure to tune in to questions on the last workshop that day! I have a bridge fishing workshop that drops this week as well!! Be on the lookout.
