My dad came to visit for the weekend. Had a great time fishing our local chain.

1. Day temps are still in the 80’s but nights in the 50’s. Lake temp has dropped 5-7 degrees. Water level is down 1.5-2ft, no rain in over a month. Some areas weeds are starting to die off.

2. Bass have been up shallow, on the bank with 6” of water down to 4-5’ roaming in the weeds. Shad and fry have been everywhere in the shallows. Catching more 3-4lb LMB than usual.

3. Taking the time to fish all parts of the dock, the bank inbetweeen docks, and the grass in front of the docks. If I come to an area where shad are jumping out of the way of my SquareBill, I stay and fish that area longer.

Interesting, never thought about that.

When would you throw the standard size chatterbait versus the mini max for Bass?

That’s a hell of a walleye for your first one! Did you keep it by chance for a fish fry?

Very interesting, never knew that.

You can make some good poor man’s lobster out of those. But yes to 2nd BLat, super annoying and slimy

Man let me tell you I casted that SquareBill 17509 yds and that tank hit it on the first crank. I was hollering the whole time as it jumped the whole way back to the boat.

I’m unfamiliar and haven’t had the opportunity to fish any farm ponds. How can they get ruined by not harvesting fish?
