Highly unlikely a wiring issue.. and the toggle switch will cut all power going to the particular device drawing the power..it’s just a bandaid.. you basically are using this to find what device is drawing the power then once you found that we can figure out why it is drawing power

Okay set your multimeter to the dc 10 amp setting then connect it to your battery see how much the drain is then start disconnecting electrical connectors that power devices to find the one that is drawing the power.. probably a bad diode.. if need be for the time being take the power cable for that device and hook up a toggle switch to stop the draw
