I have bought a lot of frogs because of this reason went and bought a dedicated frog setup aswell.. my best hookup ratio is on the ish Monroe phat frog and the booyah frog. 3rd is the scum frog.. I’ve tried probably 20 different frog brands..

Mark Jonas the gator gaurd to me is too thin won’t last that long .08 kydex I don’t think you will ever wear through it..

I molded kydex to the front of my pdl106 and it’s so much better I run it up on concrete boat ramps all the time.. if it was my kayak I wouldn’t worry about plati welding it it’s not that bad just get a keel guard it’s not hard to do.. use 3m double sided tape after molding and then use goop Marine sealant around the edges

It’s just a overall better built reel.. I use the hs150 for a frog reel and a dobyns 735 it’s the best reel under 200 by a long shot.. it’s hard to really describe unless you use one.. I have 2 slx’s and a inception g2 .. this blows them both out the water

Sometimes we got to let the fish dictate what they want. I’m bad about making fish bite what I want them to bite … if I can’t buy a bite smh shakey head or a smh worm on a drop shot.. if I can’t get a bite on that then I’m not fishing around fish
