 ⁃ Do you modify your jigs? Why? I typically trim a few of the bristles of the weed guard to have a slightly better hookup ratio.

I love jig fishing! I tend towards 3/8 - 3/4 jig heads with full skirts. I change the trailer size to 3 inches or 4 inches, and I change the color depending on the conditions. WIndy/Wavy/Deep, I go heavier. Bluebird calm/clear/shallower, I go lighter. I use Football head jigs around rocks. I did well with jigs this year using Berkley chigger craw as the trailer. Here are some questions that may help me move to the next level with jig fishing:
