Don't tell anyone, but I tied my lure on perfectly... then cut the main line instead of the tag end. Twice. In a row. Tossed it over the side of the boat, watched my lure sink like a rock, and stood there like an idiot holding loose fishing line. Did it again immediately after toosing one over the side because apparently I'm a slow learner!

Thanks for the good vibes from the community. My son and I had a great fun day on the water at our local annual Jimmy Fund Derby. It rained, and we made some wonderful memories. He caught a couple of pike, and I caught a couple of bass. I won first place in the bass category. I forgot to stay hydrated, but it was only a half-day derby, so I drank extra at noon. :-)
