I love the idea of a simple basics fundamentals/foundations workshops that everyone should be reminded of or know if you are serious about getting better. BIG SALE - Everyone likes to buy stuff...

This happens to me too. I think I notice it more when the water is cooler. I just wait. The fish will relax it just takes a few minutes.

I used my Spike-It red dye marker a few times to write in the code.

Ok here is the breakdown on how I caught these fish the last couple of afternoon/evenings. I spent a tremendous amount of time over the last few years idling around a couple of local lakes in late november when all the weeds die off and the water is cold and clear. I marked old trees, stumps that were cut down when the lake was flooded and other mid depth hard structure including sunken boats. These are not visible during summer months or mid spring due to turbidity and weeds. When the water cools into the 50's these fish up here start feeding and the weeds are starting to slowly die off. For me, the bigger largemouth are in more predicable areas, those hard mid depth structures in weeds especially when there is baitfish in the general area. The smallmouth are on drop offs in the 8-15 ft depth on some hard structure like rocks, logs or sporadic weeds. The other thing I watch is weather. Rain yesterday sunny and warm today therefore I targeted some concrete walls that warmed up all day

I had a great afternoon fishing. I took a few hours off of work. The lake is getting drawn down and I will not be able to get on it till April.
