I am a husband, father of 3 girls, and a retired Army veteran who settled in Virginia. Fishing was my first love and I love chasing bass!

When I was a child, I stayed annually at a Campground on Lake Russel. I will say, we ate our share of Crappie out of there! I miss those early mornings of glass, when I could drag my dad out fishing.

Side note: I swear the largest loggerhead I have ever seen was in that lake.

Why should you sponsor me for the BFL? After serving 23 years in the Army, I retired in 2019 and often struggled to fill that void. When I’m on the water fishing, all that disappears. It’s like a switch flips—suddenly, everything feels normal again, and all the noise fades away. Bass fishing has become not only my passion but also a means of personal healing and growth. The focus, patience, and discipline it requires mirrors the values I honed during my military service. With a commitment to hard work, continuous improvement, and representing my sponsors with integrity, I’m dedicated to excelling both as an angler or a co-angler in the BFL if chosen. Partnering with Brian Latimer’s Straight Up Fishing School would be a perfect fit, as I share the same determination, resilience, and love for the sport. My drive to succeed on the water would help bring visibility to your brand, creating a meaningful, long-term relationship both on and off the water.

Congratulations!!!

That’s a tough one to teach. I always use Cody’s method with the hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Truth is, you just have to practice and find your method. I had to learn pulling a 32’ Jayco travel trailer with all the laughs and heated moments that came with it. Definitely makes pulling a 20’ boat easier. lol

Got an impromptu couple hours on the Chickahominy River yesterday. Had a couple bites, but nothing landed. Definitely need to take the time and use what Brian has taught us by marking those points and ditches so these little trips become more successful. Either way it’s always awesome when you can get on the water in December!

Oh no. My heart sunk a little for him, but then I remembered he gets to fish Texas. You’ll get em next time Jayden.
