On Oneida Lake I was using a yellow perch colored crankbait with lots of green it. Maybe , because of the green bass saw it too good and avoided it because all I could catch were walleye.

I have always liked some pink on my shallow running crankbaits. Now I know why.

That is interesting Barde. Here are a few of my baits before and after. Notice how many turned a shad colored. Not bad.

BLat- this is one of your best ever! This was me last year. I knew too much and that was dangerous for my mind. I was spinning wheels in too many directions. You taught me to be a specialist, intentional, focused and confident in your skill set. We have so much information overload because we want to learn but sometimes you just need to turn the noise down. Rely on what you actual know, see and feel. We make fishing far more complicated than it needs to be. Understanding bass , habitat and bait will take you a long way. I like being unconventional when I know and feel that a lure could work.

I always say the bass are not reading the material that we study on the internet.
