Air temps in the 40’s with 20-30 mph winds and I’m all bundled up. Bass don’t react like humans do to weather someone once said. Sometimes you just need to run a Chatterbait over the emerging lily pads. Caught 13 today, biggest fish weighted 4.68 lbs. 😀

SUF and Barde are bad influences on me. I had to go upgrade my John boat for a Tracker Pro Team 195tx so I could enter more tournaments. 😀

First fish of 2026- Orange Chatterbait, 52 degree muddy water on the Potomac , two feet deep, bait went weightless on the retrieve, set the hook - bingo - fish

7 fish caught on the Potomac today. Smallest fish was a 2.95 lb. Top five fish weighed in at 16.38 lbs and the highest water temp was 57 in the back of a creek.

Opened my fortune cookie today. Looks like the retreat is going to be a good one.

Getting ready for some springtime lipless cranking.

BLat- we will need some “Straight Up Fishing” stickers for sale at the retreat. Big ones for the boat and smaller ones for the gear boxes.

My fishing club had their awards banquet for 2025 last night. I garnered 2nd place for the co- anglers and I got paid. I’m cashing checks just like BLat! 😀🎣💰. Thank you BLat and SUF family for the support.
