I know you have promoted to be a co-angler for the professional tournaments that have the openings. I have read stories that they are not filling all the co-anglers spots due to a lack of people signing up. Some say it’s because of forward facing sonar and there is nothing for the co-anglers to do all day.

I want to participate next year and may just choose places that are less conducive for FFS. What are your thoughts about this trend?

It’s on the border of NC/VA. The lake has a dam on each end and it has a lot of grass with clear water in the shallows. It is used to maintain the water level between Lake Gaston and Kerr Reservoir. When they run current between the dams they say the fishing is awesome but most of the times the dams are closed. There are a couple of islands with waterways between them than can get shallow. Seems to be a good mix of Largemouth bass and spotted bass.

You like dirt bike riding.

I fish both but these fish came off hydrilla in the well known Belmont Bay of the Potomac.

I want to try to flip the heavily matted grass on the Potomac River when we get to July and August.  I hear that some use  a heavy weight like an ounce or ounce and half on their soft plastics. I plan on using the gremlins, goats and crawz.  So is the theory you want the heavy presentation to bust thru the grass straight to the bottom and not get hung up? Why wouldn’t you want to slowly work the bait thru the grass? Are you only looking for an reaction bite?
