I had some success in the spring and summer burning a shallow crankbait in grass. Hard stop and go’s produces reaction bites. My theory has been to not give the fish a chance to think just react. Covers a lot of water and then allows me to try some plastics in places I got a bite.Â
For the Potomac River grass beds I use the Orginal Baby -1’s and kVD 1.5’s. Do you have any other suggestions for crankbaits in 4 feet of water that can rip thru the grass before it gets thick?
I got to fish the St Lawrence River this year  and became a fan of tungsten weights on my drop shots. What are your thoughts about tungsten weights in all types of waterways?

Is it worth the effort ( wears you out) cranking the deep large crankbaits in wintertime?
