Thank you for the information. This past year has been a learning experience for me and your thoughts have opened up my eyes to why bass are caught. Profiles, structure, understanding the nature of bass and areas fished are more important that what “magical” lure you are casting.

I now catch bass in the summertime with “red” crankbaits. Use deep diving crankbaits for my PB smallmouth out of the St Lawrence River. Plus, I use a spinnerbait in the wintertime for cold muddy water. 🤯

New thoughts , big results.

Thank you for simplifying my thought process in my future fishing adventures.

Northern Virginia has had minimal rain which allows the water to be clear 12-18 inches but we have several storms in the forecast with snow , ice and rain which we quickly muddy up the water. The local reservoir I fish has 41 degree water temperature.
