This is what I learned from SUF app. Took my nephew out today looking for pre spawn bass. Found this nice secondary point around the corner from a timber field. He threw a chatterbait up on the tip, I’m sure right by the brush pile and caught the biggest bass that’s been on my boat. Cant find another point on the lake with brush piles, hard bottom, and gravel. What are other areas I can check?

So this is going to be my second season fishing a local club. On most lakes I can get my limit quick just throwing my normal confidence lures. Never can get them really big ones during tournaments. My question is on game planning, should I throw my Texas rigs, wacky, shakey, spinnerbait, etc to start my morning to make my limit then start trying to cull by throwing bigger baits, or should I just take a gamble and throw big baits all day??

2025 RECAP:

This year I learned a lot. I stepped outside of my comfort zone a lot of times. I finally got those jitters and nervousness to calm, when driving to the ramp of a new lake. Thank you God for allowing me to progressed. I have been bass fishing for 5 years now and boating for two. I have become so much better at driving and positioning my boat this year. I’ve fished 9 tournaments this year and 4th place is my best. I’m coming for some checks next year, believe that!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
