Gonna share a new experience for me from this last tournament. I caught an early limit and it gave no signs of upgrades so I wanted to challenge myself with fishing current. I faught the boat traffic and the current itself for a few hours. I bumped a ned rig around and hammered some drum, but the few times I hooked a bass, they just came loose at the kayak. Does anyone know why the bass didn’t stay pinned as well in the current but the drum did?
Got to share a meal with our guy and a couple of other anglers a little while ago… the weights have shocked us all. They are CATCHING EM. Nonetheless, I appreciate them allowing me to tag along after a day of fishing. Best of luck tomorrow, Brian!
🚨PB! Catching this giant in a tournament was a moment I will never forget. Caught a nice one early on a chatterbait, saw this guy stir up the water and finally got em with the SMH worm. Missed 1st place by 1 inch and I’m really wishing I had a better 3rd fish, but incredibly thankful for a great weekend of fishing.
Update on the 20+ confidence… I managed one, wind had me and my kayak all over the place. My question for next week is how do you guys fish lakes that are primarily flooded timber?
What’s everyone experiencing right now with the weather? Fishing was on fire in the southern TN / northern MS area and then we had terrible weather for nearly a week. Now, it’s cool temps again.
