Love to get out and fish anytime, mostly weekends. Have always just loved fishing and being on the water. Currently fish from a kayak

I was able to get on the water today, was nice to slide away from work. Caught my intial two for the tournament just before a big storm swept in and after I removed a couple treble hooks out of my fingers. Dam that fish, those hurt - lol. Had fun but off the water safely, first official tournament on the books

Here in Eugene Oregon this week for the NCAA Nationals track meet. I may need to go buy a fishing pole for a little bank fishing with the hotel right on the Willamet River here in Eugene. Better planning would have brought one. Those are some nice fishing spots I see there and getting a big itch to give it a shot 😂

Had a nice day on Lanier today, while it was windy most of the day I was able to catch a few nice ones using the techniques we have been talking about. The Brian Ned Rig kit, and Carolina Rig were successful. Caught a nice one on a brush pile with the good ole drop shot. Unfortunately while practicing to use the Ketch board for measurement and picture, he decided to take a leap back in the water - I had a good laugh. The wake boat passing did not help, juz sayn. I guess putting the board in your lap on the kayak is not a good idea 😀. Lesson learned!

Unfortunately Army Core of Engineers (COE), has started to close down boat ramps and parks around local lakes such as Lanier. Lack of resources and cut backs starting to make impacts. Ramps open are managed by local counties. Anyone else seeing this across their lakes for COE managed?

With all our talk of staying on your spot or moving. Jake Lawrence took the risk staying with it and ended up with his 3 he needed. I would have moved on but that’s why he is in it and leading 😀 . Love to see Brian in it!!! Let’s go!

Brian,

Thank you for a fantastic retreat and all the effort that went into pulling it all together. Loved every thing about the retreat, meeting great group of fisherman, the knowledge sharing amongst the SUF members, socializing, and just building a great group of new friends. We walk away with more knowledge and a stronger group. I personally stepped out of my comfort zone and resulted in gaining more confidence and experience (building the bridge). Loved getting to know my roomies the Dodson brothers!! Great conversations. Thank you Brian to you and everyone who helped in putting this together!
