I thank God everyday for His grace. Hello all, I’m 41 started fishing in 2023. Got a kayak. Getting more serious about fishing. Pb LM 2.49

Brian latimer, thank you for the response. You and your family are in my prayers for the loss of your grandfather.

Before I was able to watch this video I came to the same conclusion as you did. I think I can swing a John boat with planning. And the possibilities of a John boat are better than a pond hopper. Thank you again.

I fish in Arizona. Highland desert 🌵 reservoirs/lakes.

Brian Latimer i just tried to view the video on my phone, ipad, and my dell computer did not work on any of them.

it won’t play for me either.

I also can not get it to play.

Do you have any experience with the pond prowler or bass raider style plastic hull pontoon mini bass boats? Any thoughts on them? I’m looking for a future replacement for my kayak. As a side note I got my kayak to fish, not because I like kayaking. I’m looking for a better option to just stand and fish. A traditional bass boat even a John boat is a bit out of the budget. And I don’t have a storage available. I did watch your vod on how to pay for a boat. Anyone else in the community have any experience with them? Any info would be helpful.

Thank you BLat for destroying my name!

More to the point, thank you for the response, to my question. I felt up until now that every time I go fishing I’m just throwing a lure in to the void. The more and more I study here on SUF and hear your live responses, I am getting a game plan. Going to a big lake (Roosevelt lake) in az on the 22 of June looking to put theory to practice for the first time.

I was thinking I’m going to use your “how to fish points series” as a guide and just hit points main lake, secondary and hidden, all day with the three lures you use. I’ll report back on how it goes.

I did have a frog question? Two of the three lakes I go to have 0 tree cover and no vegetation that I have ever seen. Can you fish a frog in rock/riprap/coves any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

I have done some research… “major solunar events: happen 2 times a lunar cycle.  They have approximately 2 hours duration although on certain occasions they may exceed 3 hours. They begin the moment of the lunar transit (when the moon is overhead) and the opposing lunar transit (when the moon is under our feet).” (Lunar day is 24hrs 50 minutes)

Minor solunar events: They are intermediate periods of lesser duration (approximately 1 hour) which coincide with the rising and the setting of the moon. During these periods there is also an increase in fish activity in relation to the rest of the day”

“We can also observe a notable increase in the activity of fish if the sunrise or sunset takes place during the solunar period. In these cases, in which we may expect more action than that initially forecast”

This topic has got me interested. My next fishing trip is on the 22 June right after the full moon. And the solunar times are predicting to be good. I’ll report back on my findings.

Hey Brian, my question is about advancing from a novice fisherman to a more intermediate fisherman.(less than 2 years fishing with a scatter shot of knowledge, and way too much gear!!)  I’m specifically looking for theory/application information, with a focus on how do I go to my lake and practice fishing in a constructive way? The theory part of this question I assume, is SUF and the interactions in Lives, Videos and Q&A’s on this platform. (But if you can add anything to the Theory side that would be appreciated.)

Thank you!

Question, what a bout braid to fluro leader? Does the line size on the braid matter the same way fluro does?

Also age on braid?

Thank you blat!Â
