I ran into the same thing at my tournament this Saturday. Zero activity on top in the morning from safe light. I switched to a hard Jerkbait and Squarebill after an hour of traditional morning baits. All I really did was execute the 2nd phase of my process early.

I wanted to say thanks to Mack Toon and Christopher Waters for giving me some much needed tips on Frogging. Should have seen the look on Mack’s face when he said, “you live in Florida and you don’t throw a frog?” Genuinely appreciate you guys helping me out.

Aaahh Kevin. You assume we stay on topic! In all actuality there is an overlying topic of discussion but we go across so many tangents during them. Really makes for a fluid conversation and filled with nuggets of knowledge, tips, tricks and opinions.

We ended up placing 3rd overall and happy with that. I stuck to my plan. Co angler threw a wacky after the morning bite. Best of all we had a blast with a beautiful breeze all day.

I just found out that the one I submitted from Lake O is a spotted bass. I had no idea they were even down here. I barely looked at it. Not bad at 15.25. Pretty rare. *shrug
