I got to meet the legendary Destiny Siguenza and Chris at the Bassmaster Classic this past weekend! It’s always a blast getting to meet people you’ve been friends online with for years! I know all of you who are attending the SUF retreat this weekend will have an absolute blast getting to connect with one another. I hope to make it next year to get to meet you all!

I just found out about a kayak tournament this weekend on a lake about two hours from me. I’m considering signing up! I’ve never competed in a kayak event before and I’ve never fished this lake. I won’t have time to go up to the lake to practice before the event so it feels silly to sign up for this totally blind. But there’s no harm in trying! I plan on doing all the research I can and then hopefully I can go this weekend and explore a new lake (and catch a few bass fingers crossed). I’m thankful for this tournament prep sheet!

There’s one area of a lake I frequent where I learned to not throw baits that make contact with the bottom. I didn’t know what was there, but through trial and error I knew I’d get hung or loose a lure if I threw a Texas rig over there. I assumed it was a gnarly stump or something, but today I finally got some answers 😂 this side scan thing is truly a gift!

I’m throwing my hat in the ring for the SUF School Angler Development program on the co-angler side!

As I prepare to take the jump from BASS to the BFLs in 2025, I’m excited to continue to grow as an angler. I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to making the right adjustments on the water, breaking down outcomes, and consistently performing when you’ve got a limited amount of time.

The coaching and guidance offered by the SUF School’s Angler Development Sponsorship would be a game-changer for me. This opportunity would not only help me sharpen my skills but also give me the tools to better understand the mental and strategic aspects of tournament bass fishing.

I’m ready to put in the work, soak up as much knowledge as possible, and become the best angler I can be. Whether I’m chosen or not, I’m excited about the chance to take my passion for fishing to the next level while competing in the BFLs! If any of y’all have fished as a co in both in the Bass Opens and the BFLs, are there many big differences you’ve noticed?

I spent a couple hours today getting acquainted with my new graph! I got to experiment with side scan, down imaging, and the mapping feature to learn the contures of a small lake I visit often. This stuff is so cool, I’m so excited to keep learning about it!

After all the talk of fishing humps and ditches last night I hit the lake today and found this guy off the steep side off a hump! He fully committed to this crankbait, what a fun bite! I really enjoyed the discussion last night and I’m looking forward to part 2

Hey y’all!

My names Kara! Long time watcher of b.lat YouTube videos, first time SUF attendee.  I’m very excited to be here!  I went fishing for the first time at the age of 20 and fell in love with the sport instantaneously.  When most people’s fishing stories begin in childhood, sometimes I feel like I’m playing a big game of catch up trying to learn everything but I’m enjoying the learning process! I mostly bank fish and kayak fish local lakes.  I just bought my first graph for my kayak so I can start learning more about these small bodies of water I frequent which I’m both excited about and a little overwhelmed by.  Last year I entered a few tournaments as a co-angler so I could experience new lakes and learn about what the tournament scene is like first hand.  It was an awesome experience and I’m hoping to enter a couple more this year.  2025 is going to be a great year for learning and I’m stoked to be here with you all!  I’m looking forward to getting to know y’all and learning from each other!
