“She thinks we’re just fishin’.” 🎣❤️

My girl caught her very first bass today, and to say I’m proud would be a complete understatement. Watching the excitement she gets over fishies, right alongside her brother, makes my heart so happy.Fishing is something that was passed down to me from my dad, and now getting the opportunity to pass that same love and those traditions down to my kids is something I’ll never take for granted. These are the moments and memories I’ll cherish forever. There’s nothing better than watching your kids fall in love with something that means so much to you. Here’s to many more fish, muddy hands, early mornings, and memories together.

Yesterday while getting everything tied up for this morning’s tournament, my son grabbed my rod and said

“Daddy!?”

“Yeah, buddy?”

“I fish like you and Papa and win some cha-ching?”

Fast forward to this morning… on that same rod, throwing an SMH Worm on an SMH Shaky Head, I stuck this 3.7-pound spot that earned a little “cha-ching.”I’d say my little man’s good luck rubbed off on me! 💙 Thanks for the good luck, buddy. Daddy loves you more than you’ll ever know. 🎣💰 #ChaChing #SMHFishing #MakingMemories #FishingWithPurpose

Got the W on the home pond tonight! 🏆🎣

17.39 lbs sealed the deal and, by far, it’s the biggest bag I’ve ever put together. After 33 years of chasing bass, nights like this remind you why you keep showing up. Hopefully it won’t take another 33 years before it happens again! 🤣

Grateful for every bite, every lesson, and every memory made on the water. On to the next one.

Lake Bowen showed out today! Plenty of quality fish caught in the Lake Bowen Big Bass Club derby, and it seems BLat was onto something with that big worm talk yesterday. This 3.5-pounder had me hanging around for a while, but it wasn’t quite enough. We’ll get ’em next Thursday night. Tight lines! 🎣💪

Lost a 9 at the boat earlier… tough one to swallow. Stayed locked in and got redemption with this 6 with 20 minutes left and still took big fish. Don’t let anybody tell you the SMH head doesn’t catch giants.

Many years overdue, but I finally made it to my first retreat this past weekend. It was great catching up with BLat and finally putting faces to names I’ve been talking with for a while.

As good as the weekend was, there was still a piece missing without my little brother Tron there. Being able to bring home his “Most Inspiring” award meant more than I can really put into words—because that’s exactly who he was and always will be.

I’m grateful for every single person in this community who showed him love along the way. That doesn’t go unnoticed.

Already looking forward to next year—this is definitely something I’ll be making a yearly tradition.

Tight lines, SUF fam 🎣

💪✅Really looking forward to seeing and meeting everybody this weekend, and getting some good fellowship in. I’ve known B for a long time and had the chance to fish with him a handful of times with Tron. I think it’s going to be a bittersweet moment, being back on the water with B for the first time since my little bro passed.
