Well, if you look closely, you’ll notice I’m not in the picture I’ve shared! I fished the championship for the club I run on Lake Bowen. I held the lead throughout the entire weigh-in with a 3.6 I punched out of the pads. Lo and behold, the last two fish weighed in were a 3.10 and a 6.14, knocking me right out of the money and out of the championship. That’s fishing for you! 😂

Fast forward to the picture I’ve shared. Two of my boys fishing a derby with a different club on a different lake absolutely put on a show, dropping 40.13 lbs in their best five fish! Now that’s just too unreal not to share! Couldn’t be happier for these guys. Sometimes you don’t get the outcome you’re looking for, but getting to watch your people succeed makes it all worth it!

My girl caught her very first bass today, and to say I’m proud would be a complete understatement. Watching the excitement she gets over fishies, right alongside her brother, makes my heart so happy.Fishing is something that was passed down to me from my dad, and now getting the opportunity to pass that same love and those traditions down to my kids is something I’ll never take for granted.These are the moments and memories I’ll cherish forever. There’s nothing better than watching your kids fall in love with something that means so much to you.Here’s to many more fish, muddy hands, early mornings, and memories together.
