Took the time to learn a new body of water on the Harris Chain. Landed 14 today. Nothing huge but solid and consistent. Key was to slow down presentation and find an ever so slight current.

One of the many things I love about fishing meeting new people that share the same passion about it as you. Sometimes you meet your newest fishing buddy or you share info with someone that’s never fished that lake before. It’s more than just fishing it’s the memories the moments of quite in the wee early morning hours or sunrises/sunsets. The getting outdoors and just enjoying the simple things listening to the wildlife and letting the things in life that may be a burden gone for that moment, cause in those moments nothing but enjoying nature and trying to solve the puzzle are all that matter.
Decided to run up a creek the other day to try getting away from all the boat traffic. At some points we were in 2-3 inches of water and walking while pulling our kayaks behind us. Made a long cast down a stretch of the creek that was maybe 10 feet wide into a pocket of crystal clear water that was 3 or 4 feet deep and pulled this 17 3/4 inch smallie out!!
Decent morning! Started off with this “single scoop (TRF)” then got into the 3 pounders. Zoo Kick Frog, Texas Rigged black and blue Palmetto Bug, & Z-Man SlingBlades Double Colorado white and gray with a little bit of yellow skirt. Forgot name of color. Got out there about an hour and a half before sunrise fished until about 8:30. Great way to start any day if you ask me.
Don’t forget to get those last minute culls in! SUF and Barde’s tournment ends on Thursday.
I was wondering why this beaver was letting me slip up so close behind him, and beside him... then I realized he only had one eye and I was on his blind side.. When he saw me, he slapped that tail, soaked me and was gone...
