Fishing licenses will be revoked for people that don’t know how to fish boat docks properly.

Well SUF family-For all of you that recently had a bad Tourney let me join your club. My first BFL as a boater on Norman resulted in a 🦨. I think my nerves, weather conditions, and head got the best of me. 114 boats showed up and I finished 102.

It was a windy day with 10-30MP gust pretty much from the jump. I fought the wind more than the fish. The three I was lucky enough to fight briefly shook off. Once noon hit, panic and frustration set in, and I feel like I was rushing to try to catch just one.

Wanted to share for those of you fishing you first tourneys this season. If you have days where you think you suck…we all have those. The best part about failing sometimes is the lessons that come along with them 💪.

For those of you fishing in my division, let’s go crush it at Wylie on 3/22!

For 2 days we chased points that were exposed to wind. You can hear it clearly in the video! THE MORE WIND THE BETTER. We didn’t run from the wind but used it to help us catch fish. Our 2 productive lures both days were a jerkbait and a small finesse swimbait. Our best points seemed to be closer to the main lake. We caught fish on both flat points and steep points. The key was hitting as many as possible. Sometimes we would go hours without a bite then all of a sudden hit 2 -4 fish in a row.

I spent the last two days practicing on Lake Lewisville for a tournament on the 16th. This was my first time on this lake and I learned so much including thoughts on how to better approach my home lake. Tournament fishing/prep ( and this app) have helped me better understand this great sport!

I didn’t catch a Barde bass, but I did break the ice and finally weighed one in.
The wind blew ALL day this little vid is a poor reflection of how rough it was.

Let’s talk about bass management in ponds and lakes. I been managing a place for the last year and we are still taking out stunted bass this year. This stringer is from this morning.

If you have to many bass in a pond then all your forage fish get eaten.

A little math for every acre of water you should be taking out about 40 lbs of bass a year. This place I am managing is nearing 20 acres so we are removing 800 lbs of bass this year. We removed 600 lbs last year.

We are also starting a bream feeding program this year as well.

Hope this helps anglers manage their bodies of water to make more quality bass.

Let’s fire up the grease !
