Can you believe it?! We are just 11 days and a wake up until our mini community retreat at Guntersville, AL! We still have two bed slots available for $125 for the entire time of the retreat. Please message me directly if you'd like to reserve a bunk or comment below.

Day 1 Thursday: we will be picking a ramp to meet up to fish together. Ray Brunetti had a great idea on fishing together or in the same vicinity so we can learn from each other in person.

Afterwards, We will be meeting at Waterfront Tackle shop after to check out some new baits and have an in person roundtable. We'll be streaming this for those who can't make it. Dinner we will be ordering something together and hang by a nice camp fire.

Day 2 Friday: Fish all day and cookout for dinner. This is also day one for our 'catch to cook' competition.

Day 3 Saturday: Fish all day, catch and cook continued and fish fry for dinner. This is also day one for the SUF 'the last dance' online tournament!

Day 4 Sunday: SUFam breakfast before departing.

Cannot wait to see all who will be there!

I discovered something we all can use as a tool when we are doing research on a lake that we're about to fish a tournament on.... Google maps now has "street view" from the water... you can go to Google maps, search a lake you're gonna fish, click on the layers at top right, choose "street view" and you'll see the blue line is in the water.. click anywhere on the blue line to look at that dock, that bank, that cove,etc.. They drove a camera boat around the whole lake... it's pretty awesome for research..

Finished 3rd at Lake Anna for my club tournament today with 5 fish for 10 1/2 pounds. Lake was 75 degrees, 20 mph wind gusts and clouds in the morning. Bass are chasing shad so I used a wake bait above the thick hydrilla grass in the back of coves.

There be days like this… all those disturbances on the water are shad balls in Dry Creek on Tim’s Ford…. I could see shed everywhere on the side imaging, but could not beg a bite. There was nothing hitting the surface and no organized schools of larger fish.

Alright I had a better outing last weekend. I tied on small jigs with small trailers and it worked textbook. Found them where I expected them (with FFS) put it on them, took my time, and hooked a nice small mouth.

Unfortunately, my leader knot came loose before I could get him in the boat.

So I have to look up the knot videos, especially tying line to line. But that leads to my question, how often should I be retying my leader line?
