Live class starts at 5 today!!! Jump in the class. Letās talk about a new technique for fall fishing.
Changed it up today, and went to a local reservoir vs Lake Lanier. What a difference, I was essentially the only one out and no pressure or chaos as weekends get get on Lanier. I was able to catch a handful of fish when out for a few hours. While no big size, (12ā avg size)Loved working on techniques and having success with baits I donāt have much success in like the shaky head and jig.
Ray Brunetti and I had a clinic in using scout mode with certified tech Paul Gettyās last week. Let me tell you this was a eye opening experience. I cat believe I havenāt been using this. We spotted several bass and numerous pieces of structure I never would have seen without this. I always thought it was too hard. Itās not. Itās actually very simple. Tomorrow Ray and I will do a live at 5pm Monday the 10th talking about how why we learned. I hope to see you all in the group class.
Hey SUFam! Do you have a fishing topic you want to discuss with other members? Let me know!
For those of you that don't know every Thursday at 8PM EST. We have a community roundtable. We talk about all things fishing. This is a great opportunity to get your thoughts out and learn from each other. If you'd like to host one please comment below! If you have a subject in mind but don't want to host leave that in the comments too and we will be glad to schedule it!

So Iām putting myself through the āfall bass learning boot campā. Basically I take an hour in the morning and dedicate it to learning all I can about the current season. Typically through a b-lat video
This might sound super simplistic but Iāve reached a aha moment using google AI.
Iām pretty good at following directions, but when something is or isnāt working I donāt really understand why Rather itās bait selection, location, conditions etc.
With AI if I want a deeper understanding I can just ask it and it gives really detailed answers. (From this Iāve basically written reports on the things Iāve learned to better retain them)
Literally ordering baits with a pictures of āFlorida threading Shad, and bluegillsā pulled up on one monitor and picking the color and profile that best matches it.
I just think it will give more confidence in the decision we make on the water if we understood in detail why. Like why Shad go shallow in the fall, or why bass feel the need to eat up and the rabbit hole is endless.
If this is everyoneās common way to study then just remember Iām new and mind ya business š. But if you havenāt tried it I recommend it.
This week I learned some things I never knew. Ray Brunetti signed up for a 3 day Angler Development trip. In 3 days we covered finding fish offshore using electronics, learning how to pattern bass on points and a full boat electronics overview with a lowrance tech.
āļø We had wind, cold, 70 degrees and flat calm blue bird conditions all in that period and it affected the bass differently every day.
šfall is a good time to learn how to follow bass in different conditions. Things change fast in fall and recognizing how the bass react or DONT react is cool to watch in real time.
ševeryday we used the same lake breakdown process explained here in the app. It works everywhere all the time!
What up Fam! I would say I'm back! But I never went anywhere just have not been able to do much of anything since I moved to day shift at the first of the October. I haven't been able to fish much because of the other obligations and a sciatica injury. So I have been taking it easy. Caught this little guy in the Ocmulgee River off a bridge piling. BUT!!!! I FINALLY got to see the Atlantic Sturgeon that swim up river to spawn that John Wilson has talked about. They were some monsters! A passing fisherman also told me there was a 9ft sturgeon in the hole I was fishing. Had a 6 ft and 4 ft swimming right under my kayak. You can't tell from the photos but they are definitely big sturgeon.
Im getting a new trolling motor but need some advice on lowerance ghost and Garmin force pro. I would appreciate any input. Minn Kotta off the table. call me crazy but I just can't get over the look of that alien looking head.
Bank:Pond: Hook set question
I worked this stretch of the bank for about and hour had three fish on the line landed two.
In regards to hook sets are there different hook sets for different lures/techniques?
I saw a video of Bobby Barracks in the app say that he likes to reel a load into the rod and sweep it to set the hook on a chatterbait. Iāve been using this method. But Iām curious if there are different philosophies on hook sets and what you all believe is the most effective?
