This was my first time attending the retreat. I've had the SUF app for a while now but haven't been very active. My good fishing buddy and friend John Wilson is who inspired me to come join the app, fish the monthly tournaments and come to the retreat. I had a blast and will definitely be coming back. I love Brian's way of teaching. It's not overcomplicated. But yet it's super insightful and made me realize just how much I've been overlooking things on the water and with baits because of how much I tend to overthink things. I look forward to the next one.
Had a great time at the retreat this week. Fishing for us was slow the last Thursday and Friday. Went to the great seminar on Saturday and then back on the lake for a few hours until right at sunset. Applied what we learned at the seminar (rod position, line slackness, paired with SMH jig heads -Thanks for the assist Caleb!) and ended up catching a few fish (lost a monster spot as he missiled out of the water like an ICBM from a submarine). Got out this morning and applied the same principles with added emphasis on line management due to wind (we stayed mostly near secondary rocky points and prominent bank transitions in Tugaloo) and had our best day of fishing with double digit spotted bass caught. Thanks again team and B. Lat! Now get some rest dude!
Had such a great time seeing everyone and getting to catch up with them! Thank you to everyone who makes these retreats possible. Love yaโll, see ya next time around.
Congratulations to the winners today! Good job! Fun was had and fish were caught!
Thank you Brian Latimer for another great retreat. Congratulations to all the winners. Awesome to meet everyone. I appreciate everyone who worked to put this together and everyone who I meet again or for the first time. I am so appreciative of the awards. It means a lot to me. Thank You!
Had a great time this week meeting everyone at the retreat so glad I got out of going to that wedding. Also got a lot of awareness from Brianโs lesson. I had developed a bad habit with rod position on my Carolina rig fishing as well as becoming preoccupied with other things and not paying attention to boat position on contour lines and blowing up my own spots. Took information and today and had a great day caught 8 on Carolina rig and had a few on a Ned ring and a few on shakey head most small but a few were okay.
Thanks again. The rod position part of the class should be repeated if possible and maybe take on a few others
Congratulations everyone who won the tournament this week! It was really great to see everybody. Finally meet people put names of faces and just get to spend time with the community thanks Brian and thank you all too. Canโt wait for fall.
Kayak is rough on the main lake but they are still eating
