A couple hours with the kayak on Lake Lanier yesterday paid off for a couple good ones…. Kietech slow retrieval
Did some research the night before with my Lowrance app to locate points, contours and depth I wanted to fish. Our area had its first rain in over 3 weeks. Start of the day was 45 degrees and the rain stayed longer than forecasted. (Questioned why I was out in the weather).
Rain stopped around 1pm and sun came out with the wind picking up. Water temperature was 46 degrees and the air temperature was rising. Caught three nice bass on a crankbait in the next two hours. Bouncing it off of rock and wood laydowns in 5 to 10 of water with deeper water nearby.
Love it when a plan comes together!
Nothing like a little neighborhood pond fishing at the in-laws... Caught this little guy on a Texas Eye Finesse jighead with a pearl baby goat rigged vertical... Not a shad pond, so I'm interested to see what that will do in the big leagues.
Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! I spent it back home in South Carolina fishing one of my favorite ponds in Bamberg County loaded with cypress trees and grass. Was rewarded with a few on a chattebait and also put one of my daughters on one…. she was locked in….❤️….
Good morning SU fishing fam, I’ve got an electronics question as I’m new to them. If I have a graph mounted at the helm and I want one on the deck; do I need a transducer for the one of the deck if I plan to use activetarget is that right?🤔
This is how it’s gonna work tonight. I’m real excited if you can’t tell….
Gonna go play around with the FFS tomorrow. Drop some tips 💪🏻
They were indeed smashing a jerkbait in 34 degree water. The brightest most direct light of the day turned them on. Sitting on the bottom in 10-11ft on a very rocky bank I could see them on the graph all day. We had a couple head butt the A-rig but that’s it. As soon as the sun started to fall and hit that rocky bank directly they switched on for about 20 mins. Definitely wasn’t easy, but the mission was accomplished. 20 some mph gusts all day on the river made it hard to even present a bait. 5 hours in and 3 fish in the last 30 mins before we had to motor back about 2 miles. This is winter fishing. Happy to have gotten out there.
