This little guy tried to eat an entire SMH worm! I think it’s a warmouth. Am I right?

One of the ones caught this past weekend in Lake Underhill in Orlando. I’m sure I would’ve caught more had I got to have gone to the retreat. However I did catch and also got a chance to get my boat checked out and put it in the water for a spin. Progress.

Hey SUF fam! I was scheduled to check-in tomorrow at a lake house rental and received this notice TODAY that the property has been sold. What a blow. I was looking forward to hanging out with the SUF fam and trying to compete (from the bank) on Championship Sunday. I also wanted to get my hands on a Level rod and the newly debuted SUF sun shirt. Unfortunately that’s not going to happen.

Everything happens for a reason, though. So I’ll stay and have my personal fishing retreat for the next 5 days. I bought a boat last month. So I’ll take some time to work on that and get it on the water as soon as possible. So until the next retreat and/or if I make the next Championship…see you then. Tight lines to everyone attending.

Super basic question here….however I haven’t been fishing for too long. So bear with me.

I’ve only ever targeted bass as a species. So beside that the only other species have caught were chain pickerel, 1 crappie and a baby gator. As I start to fish larger bodies of water I’m sure a catfish will be hooked soon. From what I’ve watched/read you can’t lip them and they have some sharp spines. Is this correct? So what would be the best method of getting one off? I’d rather research now before it happens. Thanks for the advice.

4th of the day from Sunday in central FL. One short of a limit and all were about the same size. However it was good to catch again. Now back to cold NY.

I went bank robbing for my birthday yesterday and caught a couple of birthday bass. This was literally my last cast for the day.

I was fishing a spot for a good 45 minutes while eyeing this gap between emergent vegetation. Thought about all of the lessons about "places that look different" and bass ambushing bait. Wind was blowing my direction and you could see the current rushing between the vegetation. I kept saying I should throw over there. However I couldn't cast that far. So when it was time to go, I walked over for that "one last cast" and got hit. I casted far back from the water because I assumed the edge was soft. Good thing it wasn't because I had to get the fish out from getting hung-up.

Just heard that an angler lost their life this weekend during a Lake Hartwell tournament. That’s extremely sad to hear. I was actually recently thinking of the risk involved in fishing; especially tournament anglers who sometimes depend on wins for their livelihood.

Anyhow Randy Blaukat has a new vid up with safety tips. Perhaps B-Lat can talk a bit more about boating safety as well. I believe that came up as a potential future topic in the last live.

Y’all be safe out there.

Here's a pair from Lake Toho. This was my first time ever getting on a stack of fish right off some grass line. I've never caught so many big fish at one time. It was a good birthday week.
