Using ultra-light rod with kids creates wonderful memories and can also result in a great dinner.

I want to learn some new techniques to have in the arsenal. What do you do to not only learn but also become confident in a new technique? I now have a fishing license for at least one more week. :-)

For me, double Uni Line to leader and Palomar for the lure. Once I learn a knot that is pretty darn good I tend to stick with it because I just want to go fishing. I will give this one a shot it is always good to learn more and have it in the arsenal of knowledge. I also want to learn the FG but I also want to just fish.

Generally, my sonar is always on. In clear water, I assume you don't need it. In dirty water or deeper water, I use FFS it to find fish or structure likely to hold a bedding fish like a log or rock in 4-8 ft of water. Toss something at that log or rock.
