Here’s another picture maybe better angle of what is happening. The smaller tube is blocking thr installation of the ram.

If it extends this tube I was able to get it out just like you said taking the nut off and screw it out. A video I saw said to take the lower unit off and disconnect the outboard but it was for a single steering cable system and my boat had dual cables. The black circle is my tilt tube I believe and the black and blue circle is where my second steering cable went.

I need some help guys and gals, I’m upgrading my steering to hydraulic and have everything set except the ram. There’s a bracket in the way, anyone know how to get it out? It’s in front of my tilt tube, I had dual cable steering before.
