Wow thatā€™s a nice fish. My local reservoir will probably be in the 40ā€™s during the peak winter so hopefully I will still get out there.

I found all these to be true last year when I fished over the winter on my local reservoir. I use to avoid cold, muddy water when fishing. Now, I look for it! I had success when the water was muddy and I used something big, full of action lures to get their attention. I could be over deep water but my hits were all in less than 3 feet of the water column.

Picture is from January 5, 2024 with water temperature in the 40ā€™s.

Nice fish and nice family time! Enjoy!

Easy retrieves to remember, the ā€œStevie Wonderā€ and the ā€œJames Brownā€. šŸ˜€ I will give it a try!

Feels good to easily know what I have and what I need. Iā€™m ready for the winter sales.

Excellent in-depth podcast. On first note- keep doing what you are doing as far as dropping new information. I like the fact that you are talking about what you are thinking.

Your support for an angler and co-angler to enter tournaments next year is commendable. This is such a great opportunity for the members. Like you said ā€œ itā€™s not about the money because people can find the money if you really want itā€ but itā€™s about the support. So no matter what, the anglers will have the whole SUF family behind them before they even throw a line out in the first tournament. What other format would even have anything close to this. Iā€™m looking forward to being a part of this process moving forward through SUF.
