Last summer , we did a family vacation to on Claytor Lake in southwest Virginia. I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to fish so I didn’t look up much on the lake I had never been there. It rained for two days before I finally got out in the early evening. The section of water I was on was narrow and very deep drop offs. There was some docks but hardly any obvious structures visible. This was very clear water with 6 foot visibility in places. Way outside my norm of shallow, stained, grassy Potomac River. I found a small cove that had a log across the middle of it Ā and I knew there should be a bass. I slow rolled a white spinnerbait over it and dropped it after the log. Wham!!! The fight was on! I had him good and in my excitement I stepped on the trolling motor and pushed the boat towards to the log. Now the fish got under the log and was hung up. I saw the big bass and tried to get him out. Once I grabbed his tail he shook off the spinnerbait. One small crappie during the next 2 day

I see high of 41 and sunny so that is better than mine. High of 31 and 30 mph winds. 🤪
